Thinking about the future

Bird.

There's this beautiful race going on, where this huge monstrous tower of babble (sick!) is just unleashing everything its got because communication and culture have just entered this death fight for what's happening next. And we can get all down because we happen to live, for the most part, in the belly of the beast (anecdotes of cuban revolutionaries feeling sorry for our team), that doesn't mean that there aren't magnificent crests and developing topples that could change it all.

And its exciting. And sometimes we get to acknowledge that.

Knowledge is funny. Like, there's totally a limit, and you get anywhere close to it, and you begin to bump against the smartest and then you realize that there's a limit. Sometimes they don't know any better than anyone else. Zinn wrote a bit about acceptance of the scorched earth crime of vietnam. Higher up the "educated" scale you went, the more acceptance you had for the war. High school drop outs were much more suspicious, B.A.'s were much more likely to be gung ho for that burning skin. And it's wild. Adolescence is this awesome trajectory into adulthood and you think you're like a rocket ship into space never ending, but really, it's a short arc into grumpy old man, conniving shit head, smug bastard, all these terrible traits and that there's no magical rocketship ride. You could be a middle intellect in his sixties, with no great victory.
